Best. Game. Ever. Cards Against Humanity

We've been keeping an eye out for this game after being introduced to it on our Utah ski trip. It had us laughing so bad we were crying! Think Apples to Apples adult version. It's been sold out for months and they finally re-listed some. they re-listed enough stock for 6 months (that they predicted) and it sold out in 3 short hours. We were one of the lucky who scored a set! And a booster pack! <3 this game and highly recommend it!!!

The eBay/iPad 3 Challenge! Do you have what it takes?

I challenge you to purchase and iPad on a credit card that has to be paid off every month and utilize eBay/craigslist/old stuff in your house/condo/apt to resell those things and pay off the iPad within 30 days.

Think about all the JUNK you have laying around. You've heard the saying, "Your old junk is another one's treasures" or something similar, right. Well it's true. You can sell ANYTHING on eBay. Old keys, button lots, old clothes, old bras (yes, guilty. And yes, people pay almost as much as I bought them for!), old sporting equipment, old kitchen stuff, you name it. All it takes is a camera, and eBay account and some patience. Okay, I lied- A LOT OF PATIENCE!

Over the next thirty days, I will go in to detail about selling items on eBay, the listings, eBay success tips and more in order to help you gain the confidence to give this a try. You can achieve anything you want.

If I can do it, you can. And I'd like to see this happen for friends/family/reader's of my blog. Let's give this a try!

And so it begins!

Day 1: Ipad purchased. I have a head start in the sense that I listed some old furniture on craigslist. Two people are coming by tonight to pick those items up. One is selling for $80 and one is selling for $150. That's $230 already towards the total of $530 some (with taxes) paid for the ipad. Assuming the people actually show tonight, that will leave me with $300 left to achieve via eBay and craigslist. More to come later!

The Big Dress Reveal

And here is the dress I am walking down the aisle and marrying my best friend in:

Justtt kidding! This is my mother's wedding gown! The first visit home after our engagement, my mother dug out her perfectly preserved wedding gown out of the attic. After she tearfully opened the gown, she exclaimed: "I don't remember it looking this way!". It is a beautiful gown. I tried it on, but my mother is shorter than I am, and I was bending my knees in these photos to make it look better length wise. After careful consideration, I decided to check into some other options that would better represent me.

My mother and sister-in-law went dress shopping sometime last summer. I am so grateful to have had their help and opinions. We first visited Forever Formals in Kennett Square, PA.

After trying on a few dresses and putting one on hold, we headed to the next bridal shop, The Wedding Touch. At both bridal shops I fell in love with one dress. But the one I loved most out of both dresses was $1600 and that was just not going to happen.

While all these gowns are gorgeous, I did not go with any of these gowns. As you know from my post "The Smart Girl's Guide to Buying a Wedding Dress", I ended up getting my dress for $75 on eBay brand New with Tags. It's made by Jasmine and is so lovely. I actually just got it back from the seamstress, Violette on Monday. It's been altered so perfectly! I am so happy with it and love it!

DIY Heart Chalkboard Stickers

Our wedding is being done mostly by us if you haven't figured it out already. We didn't rent tons of glasses for people to drink out of, instead, we bought wine and water glasses at the same price of renting them. But we only bought enough for one of each per person. I am worried that people will have a glass of wine, walk over somewhere, put it down, get pulled onto the dance floor, come back to get their drink and won't recall which drink is theirs (we are doing a beer/wine/scotch + whiskey only wedding) So many of glasses may be red wine, white wine, etc. I saw a few sticker tags I could use, but I settled on heart chalkboard sticker tags. On each glass the chalkboard sticker will be and on each table a few sticks of chalk will be on there so everyone can write their initials on their glass. It goes along with the some other chalkboard items involved in the wedding which I haven't yet shown you all.

Here is my tutorial:

-white heart stickers (big enough to write on)
- a can of chalkboard spray paint ($4.98 per can at Home Depot)

in a well ventilated area, spray paint the stickers with the chalkboard paint. Allow time for them to dry and you're done. So easy it's ridiculous. I could do it in my sleep. And look how cute they turned out:

So now there are no excuses. Everyone gets one glass for wine and one for water. I'm sure it will work out!

DIY Lace Stencil

So this may not be totally legal- but search the internet and find a print you like. You can blow it up in paint or photoshop and then print it out. In my case, this stencil was printed out on 8 pages total. 4 pages for each section. I Then taped the print to a poster board and got started carving away. I believe this took me 5 or 6 hours to actually carve. And I've only completed one out of 2 so far. But with all the excitement of finishing it, I needed some motivation to complete the second one. So I tried out painting the stencil. I am super happy with the results and can't wait to get started on the second part of the stencil. So very pretty!

I need to decide what to do with this piece of furniture after the wedding. I really love this one and the vanity I painted. What if we have a baby girl one day- this furniture would be perfect for the room! Especially this piece could be used as a changing table. It has a great wide surface! Hmm, maybe if we can find storage I could hold onto it instead of selling it after the wedding. :)

SHOES, SHOES, SHOES!

I have never considered myself a shoe girl. However, with the upcoming parties and wedding, I had to start making some decisions on which shoes I will wear. Right now I have 5, yes 5, pairs of shoes for all the wedding related events. I bought two pairs last summer from Rue-La-La, I just purchased one more pair from Ideeli (not shown) and the other pair is from BEBE. I couldn't help myself. I am a bit ashamed for buying so many pairs- but be assured that I did not spend tons of money on these shoes and got them all at GREAT deals.

So here are my wedding related activities shoes. Can you figure out which pair I will be wearing the day of the wedding? Probably not that hard!
